Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has left for New Delhi to seek approvals for the Hyderabad Metro Phase–2 project. During his visit, he is scheduled to meet Union Minister for Urban Development Manohar Lal Khattar and request early clearance for the ambitious expansion. The Telangana government has already submitted the Detailed Project Report (DPR) to the Centre, outlining its plans to significantly enhance urban connectivity in Hyderabad.
The Phase–2 project proposes seven corridors covering a total length of 122.9 kilometers, with 86 new stations planned at an estimated cost of ₹38,595 crore. Currently, the Hyderabad Metro Phase–1 network spans 69.2 kilometers, and upon completion of Phase–2, the total network will expand to 191.9 kilometers. The expansion is being prioritized to address the city’s rapid growth, increasing traffic congestion, and the need for better airport connectivity.
