BRS leader K. T. Rama Rao expressed deep anguish over the tragic deaths of farmers in Mancherial district, where two separate incidents at procurement centers led to the collapse of walls due to heavy rains and strong winds. Four farmers lost their lives and several others were injured, highlighting the unsafe conditions at these centers.
He conveyed heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and demanded that the state government immediately announce ₹25 lakh ex gratia for the deceased and provide better medical care to the injured. Criticizing the Congress government for negligence in procuring crops despite weeks of farmers’ efforts, he alleged that seven farmers have died in just three days and termed these incidents as “government-induced deaths.” He urged immediate procurement of crops across all centers in the state.
