

Former Reserve Bank of India Governor Raghuram Rajan emphasized that improving skills can unlock employment opportunities across multiple sectors. He also highlighted the need to address malnutrition to strengthen human resource development. Speaking at a meeting on Telangana’s future planning held under the leadership of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy in Jubilee Hills, Rajan shared key suggestions. The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu via video conference, along with senior officials.
Rajan noted that ease of doing business plays a crucial role in attracting investments and industries. He suggested that greater encouragement to startups would yield significant benefits. The Chief Minister requested Rajan to provide recommendations on integrating Artificial Intelligence into school, higher, technical, and medical education. He also outlined the government’s initiatives, including developing a Skills University and Advanced Training Centers to generate mid-level employment. Rajan further stated that proper use of AI would benefit society and recommended adopting a Tamil Nadu-like industrial policy to attract investments. Deputy CM Vikramarka highlighted the state’s strong infrastructure, including land availability, power generation, international connectivity, and upcoming industrial clusters, while assuring robust law and order.
