Chandrababu Launches Urban Development Works from Kuppam

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu virtually launched major urban development works from Kuppam in Chittoor district, aimed at transforming the infrastructure and appearance of towns across the state. The projects, with a combined value of ₹11,359 crore, cover 123 municipalities and the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation. The programme was attended from Visakhapatnam by Municipal Administration Minister P. Narayana, Principal Secretary Suresh Kumar, Director Sampath and other officials.

The government is undertaking the projects under the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM) to reduce the financial burden on urban local bodies. The works include around 2,165 km of roads, 502 parks, 210 km of central medians, 391 km of street lighting and 300 km of sewerage infrastructure. Allocations include ₹4,656 crore for roads, ₹509 crore for parks, ₹247 crore for street lighting and ₹88 crore for central medians. Visakhapatnam will also see projects covering drinking water supply, sewerage, roads, parks and AI-based traffic management.
