Former Telangana minister and BRS Deputy Floor Leader T. Harish Rao met with people from across the state who claimed to have suffered losses after their properties were included in the 22A prohibited lands list. Senior BRS leaders, former ministers and MLAs, including Sabitha Indra Reddy, Kaleru Venkatesh, Mutta Gopal and Devireddy Sudheer Reddy, also participated in the meeting. Harish Rao assured the affected families that the BRS would stand by them and announced the establishment of a legal cell at Telangana Bhavan with 10 advocates to provide free legal assistance.
Harish Rao alleged that the Congress government’s handling of 22A land restrictions had caused hardship to thousands of property owners and demanded immediate corrective action. He urged victims not to pay commissions or sell their properties at distress prices, assuring them that BRS leaders would approach officials and collectors and continue the fight until their grievances were addressed. He also demanded that properties allegedly placed in the prohibited list without proper justification be restored immediately and called for action against officials responsible for irregularities. Harish Rao further alleged that the government should order an investigation into the issue and warned that the BRS would intensify its agitation, including a protest at the Chief Minister’s residence, if the government failed to respond promptly.
