A video praising Maharashtra FDA Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe has gone viral, with a local food lover crediting the officer’s crackdown on unhygienic shawarma stalls for bringing noticeable changes among food vendors. The man, who regularly eats at local shawarma stalls, said the condition of several food carts had improved after authorities stepped up action against poor hygiene practices. He claimed vendors were now paying greater attention to cleanliness and the quality of the food they served.
Recalling his earlier experiences, the man said that eating shawarma from some stalls would occasionally leave a dark colour on his hands, which he claimed was no longer the case after the stricter inspections and action. Praising Mundhe’s approach, he described the officer as a “real-life Singham” and thanked him for taking tough action on food safety. The video has sparked strong reactions online, with several social media users appreciating the crackdown and calling for stricter enforcement against unhygienic food practices.
