Petrol pump dealers in Andhra Pradesh are considering a shift towards cash payments amid concerns over the new charges linked to UPI transactions. The Andhra Pradesh Petroleum Dealers Association is reportedly planning to give preference to cash payments at fuel stations. The association has raised concerns over difficulties faced by dealers and customers in connection with UPI payments.
The AP Petroleum Dealers Association is also set to meet the Director General of Police and submit a representation highlighting the issues faced by consumers. The association has already written to the Union minister seeking relief over UPI-related charges. Petroleum dealers across the country have been seeking an exemption for fuel transactions from the new UPI charges.
