

Schools across Andhra Pradesh will reopen on June 12, marking the beginning of the 2026-27 academic year for both government and private educational institutions. According to the academic calendar released by the Andhra Pradesh School Education Department, the upcoming academic year will consist of 229 working days and 87 holidays. In addition, students and staff will have five optional holidays and three local holidays during the academic session.
The department has also announced that the Class 10 Public Examinations will be conducted from March 15 to March 31, 2027. As part of educational reforms, every Saturday will be observed as a “No Bag Day” in all schools. Teachers will be required to handle a minimum of 24 periods and a maximum of 30 periods per week. The Dasara holidays will be observed from October 12 to 21, 2026, while Sankranti holidays will be from January 11 to 17, 2027. Special holiday schedules have also been notified for minority educational institutions.
