Environmentalist and former petitioner in the Amaravati case, Bolisetti Satyanarayana, has stated that the construction of the Amaravati capital city must strictly adhere to the National Green Tribunal (NGT) judgment and the Environmental Clearance (EC) conditions granted by the Union Ministry of Environment. While welcoming the acceleration of capital development works, he stressed that compliance with environmental regulations is essential to safeguard the project’s legal integrity.
Satyanarayana warned that any deviation from the prescribed environmental norms could lead to future legal complications and environmental challenges, including flood-related risks. He urged the Andhra Pradesh government and CRDA officials to implement all EC conditions in letter and spirit to ensure Amaravati develops into a sustainable, environmentally responsible, and globally competitive capital city.
