Leading automobile manufacturer Maruti Suzuki has achieved a remarkable milestone in the financial year 2025-26. The company created a new record by producing 2.34 million cars, marking its highest-ever annual production. According to the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM), Maruti Suzuki has become the company to manufacture such a massive number of cars in a single year. The company stated that only a few manufacturers globally possess the capability to achieve production at this scale.
Maruti Suzuki Managing Director and CEO Hisashi Takeuchi said this success was made possible through a strong ecosystem built over four and a half decades, along with the support of employees, dealers and suppliers. He added that the company aims to increase its production capacity to 4 million units and position India as a major export hub. Currently, Maruti Suzuki operates four plants across Haryana and Gujarat and is planning to establish another new facility in Khoraj, Gujarat. During the last financial year, models such as Dzire, Fronx, Swift, Ertiga and Baleno emerged as the company’s highest-produced vehicles.
