Indian Stock Markets Close Higher After a Positive Trading Session

Indian stock markets, which opened with modest gains on Friday morning, strengthened during the trading session and closed with significant gains. The BSE Sensex rose by 308.49 points, or 0.42 per cent, to settle at 74,459.53. Meanwhile, the NSE Nifty gained 116.35 points, or 0.51 per cent, to close at 23,053.10. The positive movement in both benchmark indices reflected an upbeat trend in the domestic equity market.

Vedanta Power Limited, Vedanta Oil and Gas Limited, and Laurus Labs Limited featured among the top gainers. On the other hand, Intellect Design Arena Limited, Redington Limited, and Suzlon Energy Limited were among the top losers. While these stocks recorded declines, the benchmark indices maintained their upward momentum and ended the session in positive territory.
