India has emerged as the world’s largest market for Nestlé’s chocolate coated wafer bar, KitKat. After remaining the second largest market for the past few years, India has now secured the top position. KitKat is currently sold in 85 countries, but the highest sales are now coming from India. Nestlé stated that strong consumer demand, innovative product launches, and increased marketing investments played a major role in this growth.
Nestlé India Chairman and Managing Director Manish Tiwary said the company’s market share for KitKat has been steadily increasing in the country. India is already the biggest market for Maggi, and now KitKat has joined that list as well. The company added that products like KitKat Celebrake, KitKat Pops, and KitKat Delights helped expand its presence in gifting and premium segments. After India, Japan, Brazil, and Europe remain key markets for KitKat globally.
