

On the occasion of Ugadi, there is good news for those planning to buy gold. Today (March 19), gold and silver prices across the country have witnessed a significant decline. The price of pure gold has dropped by around ₹2,700 on average, while silver prices have also seen a sharp fall. According to data from the GoodReturns website, as of 10:00 AM, the price of 24-carat gold (10 grams) in the Hyderabad bullion market stood at ₹1,54,640, marking a decline of ₹2,780 compared to the previous day. Similarly, the price of 22-carat gold fell by ₹2,550 to ₹1,41,750. Silver prices in the city also dropped considerably, currently trading at ₹2,65,000 per kilogram.
A similar downward trend in gold prices was observed in other major cities as well. In Chennai, the price of 24-carat gold (10 grams) is ₹1,58,940, while in Mumbai, Kolkata, and Bengaluru, it stands at ₹1,54,640. In New Delhi, the price is ₹1,54,790. For 22-carat gold, the price in Chennai is ₹1,45,690, while in Mumbai, Kolkata and Bengaluru it is ₹1,41,750 and in New Delhi it is ₹1,41,900.
As for silver, Chennai recorded the highest price at ₹2,65,000 per kilogram, while in cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata and Bengaluru, it is hovering around ₹2.6 lakh per kilogram. The drop in prices during Ugadi is expected to attract buyers.
