Apple seems ready to shake up its Mac lineup once again. The tech giant has started teasing what appears to be a brand-new MacBook Pro, possibly powered by the much-anticipated M5 chip.Greg Joswiak, Apple’s Senior VP of Worldwide Marketing, dropped a short teaser on X (formerly Twitter) showing a laptop in a V-shaped silhouette — a clever nod to the Roman numeral “V”, symbolizing the number 5. The teaser also highlights a new blue colour option, reminiscent of the Sky Blue shade seen on the latest MacBook Air and iPad models.
The post’s caption — “Mmmmm… something powerful is coming” — further fuels the speculation. The five “M’s” in the caption are being widely interpreted as a hint toward the M5 processor.Bloomberg’s tech journalist Mark Gurman added weight to the rumours by simply reposting Joswiak’s teaser with the words: “M5 MacBook Pro.”Reports suggest Apple is developing two new MacBook Pro variants, codenamed J714 and J716, both expected to feature the M5 chipset. Early performance leaks hint at a 12% faster CPU and up to 36% faster GPU compared to the M4 series, making this one of Apple’s biggest upgrades in recent years.
Although Apple isn’t expected to host a full-fledged October event, the M5 MacBook Pro could still debut alongside a couple of new devices — likely the next-gen iPad models.
