Wasim Akram Takes a dig at PCB

Former Pakistan fast bowler Wasim Akram has heaped praise on India’s teenage batting sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi while launching a sharp criticism of Pakistan’s cricket system. Comparing the Pakistan Super League (PSL) with the Indian Premier League (IPL), Akram questioned the league’s contribution to developing young batting talent. He pointed out that despite the PSL completing more than a decade, Pakistan has struggled to produce a notable young batter who has established himself in the national team.

Akram called for a major overhaul of Pakistan’s club cricket and domestic structure to identify and nurture emerging talent. He suggested that the Pakistan Cricket Board allocate Rs 10 crore each to Karachi and Lahore for developing club cricket, arguing that genuine talent emerges from the grassroots level. His comments come as Pakistan face a difficult situation in their Test series against England, having already lost the first two matches and facing the possibility of a series whitewash.
