Sindhu, Satwik-Chirag Secure Top Seeds for BWF Worlds

The seedings for the BWF World Championships 2026 have been announced ahead of the tournament in New Delhi. Two-time Olympic medallist PV Sindhu has been awarded the ninth seed in women's singles, while India's star men's doubles pair, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty, enter the championship as the fifth seeds. Lakshya Sen is seeded 14th in men's singles, and the mixed doubles pair of Dhruv Kapila and Tanisha Crasto has secured the 15th seed.

The World Championships will be held at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium from August 17 to 23, with India fielding two entries in all five categories. At least one Indian player or pair has earned a seeded position in four events, reflecting the country's growing strength in world badminton. The official draw is scheduled for Wednesday, while minor changes to the seedings remain possible if any seeded players withdraw before the event.
