Leading players have intensified their protest against the reduction in the percentage of prize money allocated from the total revenue of the French Open. The issue has sparked strong reactions across the tennis world, with players voicing concerns over fairness in revenue distribution. Despite an overall increase in total prize money, the share allocated to players has been reduced, leading to dissatisfaction among top-ranked athletes.
Women’s World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka has even called on fellow players to consider a boycott if organizers fail to address their concerns. In 2024, players received 15.5% of the tournament’s revenue, but this year it has been reduced to 14.9%. This move has drawn criticism, with several star players expressing their disappointment over the reduced share despite higher overall payouts.
