Another Rare Record Awaits Vaibhav Sooryavanshi!

Team India’s teenage batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi is on the verge of another age-related milestone at the 2026 Asian Games. The 15-year-old is part of India’s men’s cricket squad and, if he takes the field, could become the youngest participant at the Aichi-Nagoya Games. Current reports identify Sooryavanshi as the youngest member of India’s 503-athlete contingent, while Indian equestrian Shruti Vora, aged 55, is the oldest.

Sooryavanshi did not feature in India’s playing XI during the recent three-match T20I series against Afghanistan. With Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma continuing as the preferred opening combination, competition for a place in the XI is expected to remain strong. However, Sooryavanshi is officially part of India’s Asian Games squad. If he gets an opportunity in the men’s cricket tournament, beginning with India’s quarter-final stage, he could add another age-related record to his rapidly growing list of achievements. India are the defending men’s T20 champions from the previous Asian Games.
