Tamil Nadu Assembly to Elect Speaker and Deputy Speaker!

The election for the Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the 17th Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 12, 2026. The election process will take place during the Assembly session at the Legislative Assembly Chamber located in the State Secretariat, Chennai.

The first session of the newly constituted 17th Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly will commence at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, May 11, 2026. During the inaugural session, all newly elected Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) will take oath or affirmation before formally assuming their duties in the House.
