Political Row Over Bhogapuram Airport Credit

Ahead of the inauguration of the Bhogapuram International Airport, the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) responded through social media, claiming that former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy was responsible for bringing the international airport project to Andhra Pradesh. The party posted a message saying “Thank You Jagan Anna” along with a related video.

YSRCP stated that key processes, including land acquisition, rehabilitation of displaced families, approvals and infrastructure arrangements, were completed during the previous government’s tenure. The party claimed that around ₹1,200 crore was spent on land acquisition, compensation and related facilities. It also criticised the present government, alleging that it was attempting to take credit for the project. YSRCP said people were aware of the efforts behind making the airport a reality.
