Key Change for Mamata Faction Ahead of Bypolls!

Ahead of the October 6 bypolls in West Bengal, the Mamata Banerjee-led faction of the Trinamool Congress has unveiled a new party logo featuring its interim election symbol, the ‘Football Player’. The new logo, launched on September 21 under the name ‘Mamata All India Trinamool Congress’, is expected to be widely publicised among party workers and voters ahead of the bypolls.

The logo features a football player at the centre against a blue background, surrounded by the party name. The Election Commission had temporarily frozen the original ‘All India Trinamool Congress’ name and its traditional ‘Flowers and Grass’ symbol amid the dispute between rival factions. It allotted the Mamata Banerjee faction the name ‘Mamata All India Trinamool Congress’ with the ‘Football Player’ symbol, while the Arup Roy-led faction was given the name ‘Democratic Trinamool Congress’ with an ‘Envelope’ symbol.
