Kavitha Questions Government Response to Adilabad RIMS Infant Deaths

Telangana Rakshana Sena chief Kalvakuntla Kavitha has criticised the state government following the deaths of three infants in a fire at the Special Newborn Care Unit of RIMS Hospital in Adilabad. She alleged that the incident reflected lapses in hospital maintenance and said the government should have provided financial assistance to the affected families.

Kavitha also questioned the response of the Health Minister and alleged that adequate attention was not given to the families of the deceased. She said her organisation would provide Rs 50,000 to each affected family and announced that she would visit Adilabad to meet them. Authorities have ordered an inquiry into the incident, while reports indicate that the fire may have originated from an air-conditioning unit following an electrical fault. The incident has also prompted calls for stronger safety measures and audits in government hospitals. Kavitha’s remarks about negligence and the minister’s response are political allegations and remain subject to investigation.
