Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar challenged the Congress to get the Chief Ministers of Himachal Pradesh, Karnataka, Telangana and Kerala to resign, dissolve the respective governments and face fresh elections using ballot papers. Speaking at the BJP state office on Saturday, he questioned whether Congress was ready to accept such a challenge if it believed that EVMs were responsible for its victories in the four states. He also urged Congress leaders, who have repeatedly raised objections over EVMs and the SIR, to accept his challenge. Sanjay said there was no connection between Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and the BJP.
Sanjay further claimed that the INDIA bloc had lost public support, pointing to the poor turnout at its protests in Mumbai and Delhi. He criticised Rahul Gandhi and other Congress leaders for not responding to the bravery of Captain Smith Machar, which he said had been praised worldwide. Sanjay strongly condemned the attack at the Santoshi Mata temple in Dilsukhnagar and alleged that the government was ignoring attacks on Hindu temples. He said strict action against those responsible could prevent such incidents in the future.
