The Telangana government has issued new orders making the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) mandatory even for all in-service teachers. Teachers must clear TET to continue in service as well as to become eligible for future promotions. These orders were issued today by the School Education Department following the recent Supreme Court directions.
This rule will apply to nearly 30,000 teachers appointed after 2009. Officials clarified that all these teachers must clear TET within the next two years. As per the revised guidelines, passing TET is now compulsory for service continuation and promotion eligibility.
