Tension prevailed in Karachi, Pakistan, after a group of protesters gathered near the US Consulate. Demonstrators reportedly targeted the consulate premises, throwing stones and using sticks against security arrangements. Slogans were raised in support of Iran, and some protesters attempted to breach the main gates. There were also attempts to set fire to parts of the premises, according to reports.
As the situation escalated, police used tear gas to disperse the crowd. Later, reports indicated that police opened fire when the unrest intensified further. Security has been tightened in the surrounding area following the incident.
