The intensity of the heat in the Telugu states is escalating day by day. While temperatures in several regions are being recorded at over 40 degrees Celsius, the scorching sun, stifling humidity, and hot winds are causing severe distress to the public. Although some areas are experiencing rainfall, the impact of the intense heat remains undiminished, resulting in a mix of contrasting weather conditions. Given these circumstances—and with the risk of heatstroke on the rise—doctors are advising the public to remain vigilant.
An 'Orange Alert' has been issued for 10 districts in Telangana, and the first heatstroke-related fatality in the Telugu states has been recorded. The death of Shobha, a resident of Gatlanarsingapur in Hanamkonda district—attributed to the extreme heat—has sparked considerable concern. In Hyderabad as well, temperatures are hovering above 38 degrees Celsius, with the heat becoming intense right from the morning hours. Officials are issuing warnings and urging people to take precautions by avoiding going outdoors between 12:00 PM and 4:00 PM. They are also offering recommendations, such as consuming cooling beverages like coconut water and buttermilk, and minimizing the consumption of outside food.
