

The counting of votes for the elections held in 116 municipalities and 7 municipal corporations has begun in Telangana. The counting of postal ballots was first carried out at 136 counting centers set up across the state, and then the counting of general votes is continuing. The entire process is being monitored by CCTV, and about 20 thousand personnel are participating in the counting duties. While it is likely to take about two hours for the first trend to come, the complete results are likely to be clear by the evening.
10,179 candidates are contesting from 2,569 wards in 116 municipalities, while 2,225 candidates are in the fray for 412 divisions in seven corporations. After the results, the elections for municipal chairmen, vice-chairmen, as well as mayors and deputy mayors of corporations will be held on the 16th of this month.
