The Union Finance Minister announced the development of seven high-speed rail corridors across India as part of the 2026-27 budget. These corridors aim to enhance connectivity between major cities and provide faster, more efficient transportation facilities for passengers. The new rail routes include Mumbai to Pune, Pune to Hyderabad, Hyderabad to Bengaluru, and Bengaluru to Chennai.
These additional corridors are part of the government’s push to improve inter-city travel, reduce travel time, and support economic growth through better infrastructure. The initiative also underscores India’s commitment to modernizing its transportation network and strengthening regional connectivity across the country.
