The Supreme Court has delivered a landmark verdict on the rights of individuals after religious conversion. It clarified that those who convert to Christianity are not eligible for Scheduled Caste (SC) benefits. The court emphasized that only Hindus, Buddhists, and Sikhs are entitled to SC reservations and related privileges.
The court further explained that the caste system does not exist within Christianity. The ruling also upheld the Andhra Pradesh High Court’s previous decision on this matter, confirming that SC rights are limited to certain religions.
