The Sabarimala Ayyappan temple will reopen today at 5 PM for devotees in connection with the Makaravilakku festival. The Travancore Devaswom Board announced that after opening the temple doors, the sacred lamp will be lit, and devotees will be allowed to have darshan (viewing of the deity). The temple had been closed on Saturday night after the completion of the Mandala Puja rituals.
With lakhs of Ayyappan devotees expected to arrive at Sabarimala for the Makaravilakku festivities, authorities have made extensive arrangements. They stated that measures have been taken to ensure the smooth provision of facilities such as darshan, queue management, security, drinking water, and food. Devaswom Board officials clarified that all departments are working in coordination to ensure that devotees do not face any inconvenience.
