The central government has appointed an analysis committee in the wake of the failure of the PSLV-C62 rocket launch. The mission was not successful due to a technical fault in the solid motor of this rocket, which was launched from Shar in Sriharikota on January 12 this year. It is noteworthy that the PSLV-C61 launch held on May 18 last year also failed due to technical problems in the third stage.
Taking these series of failures seriously, the center has formed a committee under the chairmanship of former Chief Scientific Advisor to the PM K. Vijayaraghavan and co-chaired by former ISRO Chairman S. Somnath. The committee members are visiting the Shar Center as well as the Vikram Sarabhai Space Center in Thiruvananthapuram to thoroughly examine the reasons that led to the launch failure.
