Several MPs climbed onto the table in front of the Speaker’s chair, while papers were thrown towards the Panel Speaker, leading to repeated disruptions. Amid the uproar, the House took serious note of the disorderly conduct.
Following the incident, the Lok Sabha suspended eight opposition MPs for unruly behaviour until the end of the current session. The suspended members include Telangana MP Chamal Kiran Kumar Reddy. Parliamentary proceedings were repeatedly adjourned as tensions escalated, with treasury benches condemning the protest and demanding strict action.
