Amid rising global tensions, central sources said India currently has crude oil reserves sufficient for about 25 days. While a potential closure of the Strait of Hormuz could tighten supplies, officials indicated there is no immediate cause for concern. They also noted that an additional 25 days’ worth of crude oil is already in transit to the country.
However, experts warn that if the Iran–US tensions continue for more than a month, India could face supply pressure and rising fuel prices. The central government is closely monitoring the international situation and is prepared to take necessary precautionary measures to ensure energy security.
