Former West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has alleged that police denied permission for a proposed protest organized by the Trinamool Congress (TMC) against attacks on senior party leaders. Addressing party workers and supporters during a virtual meeting, Mamata claimed that permission for a demonstration at Rani Rashmoni Road in Kolkata was refused despite the party seeking approval in advance. She alleged that the decision was politically motivated and stated that the protest movement would continue.
Mamata Banerjee further said that if authorities do not permit the planned protest in Kolkata, she is prepared to stage a solo demonstration in New Delhi. The TMC chief also accused political opponents of obstructing the party’s activities and alleged that several party offices had been damaged. She claimed that restrictions were being imposed on party workers from organizing meetings and carrying out political activities. Despite the challenges, Mamata expressed confidence that the Trinamool Congress would emerge stronger and continue its political campaign.
