A leading OTT platform and world-class VFX and virtual production house, Netflix Studios, is set to establish its office in Hyderabad. The new facility, spread across 30,000 square feet, will be inaugurated on the 12th of this month by Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu. The expansion comes as Netflix completes ten years of operations in India. While Netflix already operates an office in Mumbai, the Hyderabad unit will become its second office in the country. The Telangana government believes this expansion will further strengthen the Animation, Visual Effects, Gaming and Comics (AVGC) sector in the city.
Officials said the establishment of Netflix Studios will create employment opportunities for youth with creative and technical talent. Advanced skilling programs are also expected to boost expertise in the AVGC sector. The initiative is seen as a significant step towards positioning Hyderabad as a major hub for digital content creation. The Telangana government noted that several globally renowned VFX companies are already operating from Hyderabad, providing services for Hollywood films. These include Warner Bros, Disney, Skyline VFX, Mattel, Barnstorm VFX, Electronic Arts and Ubisoft. The motion-capture technology widely used in Hollywood films has also recently become available in Hyderabad through the ‘M&M Cap Lab’ set up at Annapurna Studios.
