Key turn in phone-tapping case: SIT serves notice to ex Chief Secretary!

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has issued notices to former Telangana Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar and former Intelligence Chief Naveen Chand. The SIT will examine the circumstances under which Prabhakar Rao was appointed as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in the State Intelligence Bureau (SIB).

As part of the probe into the phone-tapping allegations, the SIT is set to question Naveen Chand on whose phone numbers were allegedly provided by Prabhakar Rao for surveillance. It may be noted that Prabhakar Rao served as SIB Chief during Naveen Chand’s tenure. The investigation aims to establish accountability and clarify the decision-making process behind the appointments and alleged surveillance activities.
