Employees of the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) and their trade union HCASE have announced an indefinite strike starting today. The staff are demanding immediate payment of pending overtime (OT) dues and conveyance allowances for ground staff. They are also asking the management to cancel the proposal to appoint an external HR consultancy.
According to the employees, they continued to work with dedication even when salaries were not paid for three months in the past. They are also requesting medical reimbursements and cashless health insurance coverage for all staff members. The union says it has written several letters to the management earlier, but there has been no proper response.
The union has warned that work at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Uppal will be stopped until their demands are fulfilled. They also clarified that if the strike affects the conduct of matches, the management should take responsibility. Employees said they are struggling to support their families by taking loans and can no longer remain silent.
