Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu directed officials to organize the Godavari Pushkaralu on a grand scale, comparable to the Kumbh Mela. Chairing the first high-level review meeting at the Secretariat in Amaravati, the Chief Minister emphasized that preparations must begin immediately, as only 18 months remain. The Godavari Pushkaralu will be held from June 26 to July 7, 2027, for a duration of 12 days. With an estimated footfall of nearly 10 crore devotees from across India and abroad, the government has been instructed to ensure robust infrastructure, safety, and seamless facilities across the six districts through which the Godavari flows.
The Chief Minister highlighted the need for 373 bathing ghats across Polavaram, Eluru, East Godavari, West Godavari, Konaseema, and Kakinada districts, with Rajamahendravaram to feature a model ghat. He stressed AI-driven crowd management, strong safety protocols, traffic and route management, tent cities, home-stay facilities, and enhanced connectivity through roads, buses, rail, and air services. Chandrababu Naidu also directed officials to complete the Polavaram Project before Pushkaralu and promote tourism, heritage, and public participation to ensure the historic success of Godavari Pushkaralu 2027.
