Amaravati: The Andhra Pradesh government has announced a significant welfare measure for differently-abled individuals in the state budget. As part of the seven key initiatives under the ‘Indradhanush’ scheme, Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav stated that differently-abled passengers will now receive 100% free travel on RTC buses.
Previously, a 50% concession was provided, but the new policy removes this limit, granting free travel across all bus services from standard Pallevelugu buses to deluxe services similar to the benefits extended to women passengers. This initiative is expected to benefit approximately 7.6 lakh people across Andhra Pradesh.
