A 61-day fishing ban will come into effect from midnight on Tuesday to support the breeding season of fish. The restriction will be implemented in the eastern coastal territorial waters of India and will continue until June 15.
This annual ban is enforced to ensure the conservation, growth, and sustainable management of marine resources. However, traditional non-motorized boats are exempted from the ban, allowing small-scale fishermen to continue their livelihood during this period.
