

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy inaugurated the Sadarmat Barrage at Ponkal village in Mamda mandal of Nirmal district and released water for the Yaasangi crop season. Ministers Uttam Kumar Reddy and Jupally Krishna Rao, former minister Indrakaran Reddy, along with MLAs, MLCs and other public representatives attended the programme.
Later, addressing the “Praja Palana – Pragathi Bata” public meeting held in Nirmal, the Chief Minister said that he has a special affection for the united Adilabad district. He recalled that this region has a proud history of struggles under the slogan “Jal, Jangal, Zameen,” but did not receive development on the scale it deserved. He assured that Adilabad district would be allocated funds on par with Palamuru district. He stated that the completion of irrigation projects would place the district on a strong development path and that the people’s government has begun focused efforts in that direction immediately after coming to power. The Chief Minister emphasized that the construction of the Tummidihatti project would ensure permanent water security for farmers in Adilabad and directed Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy to submit a comprehensive report on the project before the budget session. He also instructed officials to take steps towards establishing a university within the Basara IIT premises and to prepare a detailed report on the district’s developmental requirements.

The Chief Minister further stated that along with setting up an airport in Adilabad district, a large industrial hub spread across 10,000 acres would be developed to boost economic growth. He clarified that after elections, the government would rise above politics and focus solely on development. Emphasizing that the welfare of the poor is the core agenda of the people’s government, he highlighted the implementation of several welfare schemes, including Indiramma housing for the homeless, supply of fine rice, ₹500 LPG cylinders, 200 units of free electricity, free bus travel for women in RTC services, and interest-free loans for women self-help groups. He added that the government is empowering women to become entrepreneurs. The Chief Minister asserted that he would meet the Prime Minister as many times as necessary for the state’s development and fight to secure the funds due from the Centre. He called upon the people to support leaders committed to development in the upcoming elections. He also announced the decision to name the Chanaka–Korata project after C. Ramachandra Reddy and the Sadarmat Barrage after Narsa Reddy, in recognition of their contributions to public service.
