Shamshabad Airport officials were immediately alerted after a bomb threat was received via email for a flight from Singapore to Hyderabad. Steps were taken to ensure the plane landed safely, and after disembarking the passengers, the plane was moved to an empty terminal and extensive checks were conducted.
As no explosives were found during the checks, the officials concluded that it was a fake threat. Passengers and airport staff breathed a sigh of relief after this incident. The police, who registered a case, are continuing their investigation to identify the people who sent the threatening mail.
Officials said that a total of 23 fake threats have been received at Shamshabad Airport since December last year. While some of the perpetrators of these incidents have already been arrested, the investigation revealed that others sent threats via email from abroad.
