Andhra Taxi–Affordable and Safe Travel!

In metro cities, booking autos and cabs through private apps is common. Similarly, with the aim of providing more affordable and safer transportation services to the public, a new portal/app called 'Andhra Taxi' has been developed under the supervision of NTR District Collector Lakshmisha. This app will be released on the Play Store soon. The goal of this app is to provide safe and affordable transportation services for tourists visiting popular destinations such as Vijayawada's Durga Temple, Bhavani Island, and temples along the Krishna riverbank.

Officials say that this new app will curb the practice of local auto and cab drivers charging exorbitant fares from tourists. The app allows users to book cabs and autos via WhatsApp, phone call, the app itself, or a QR code. Available vehicles in the required area will be displayed along with the driver's details. Only vehicles that have been inspected and certified as fit by the transport department will be permitted.

For the safety of women, the app has been specially designed to send vehicle booking information to the local police stations. All vehicle data will be securely stored in the state data center. In addition to transportation services in Vijayawada and other tourist areas of NTR district, the app also offers a hotel room booking option. The Collector also stated that drone services will be offered as part of this platform, keeping in mind the needs of farmers.
