

Amid the increasing number of air accidents in India, another tragic incident has come to light. A Beechcraft C90 (VT-AJV) air ambulance belonging to Redbird Airways Private Limited crashed in Kasaria panchayat area of Chatra district in Jharkhand. The chartered aircraft, which took off from Ranchi on a medical evacuation mission to Delhi on February 23, 2026, took off at around 7 pm. After last contacting Kolkata at 7:34 pm, radar and communication links were lost in the south-east direction of Varanasi.
Officials later confirmed that the aircraft had crashed. There were a total of seven people on board, including two crew members, a doctor, paramedics and assistants. All were reported to have died on the spot due to the severity of the accident. Officials have reached the scene and started an investigation. The causes of the accident have not yet been revealed.
