The Telangana government is implementing a clear, scientific, and goal-oriented approach to improve air quality across the state, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu said. Addressing a seminar on “Air Quality Index and Air Quality Management” at the MCR Human Resource Development Institute, he announced that 40 new air quality monitoring stations have been established across major towns. He also stated that public air quality dashboards will be launched soon to provide real-time information. Emphasizing that true development is possible only with clean air, he said the government under Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is committed to ensuring a healthier environment for all citizens.
The Deputy Chief Minister highlighted that air quality is not just an environmental indicator but also a key public health, productivity, and economic indicator. He outlined measures such as clean mobility initiatives, stricter industrial emission controls, promotion of renewable energy, and electric vehicles. Special response teams will be introduced to quickly address pollution-related complaints. Stressing the need for collective responsibility, he said sustainable development requires cooperation between the government, industries, and citizens to secure clean air for present and future generations.
