Veteran Telugu actor Rajasekhar, once known as Tollywood’s “Angry Young Man,” has opened up about his health issues and career journey during the teaser launch of his upcoming film Biker, starring Sharwanand. Rajasekhar, who delivered several blockbusters in the 90s like Ankusham, Allari Mogudu, and Priyudu, faced a career slump in later years. Although he made a strong comeback with Garuda Vega, subsequent films didn’t meet expectations. After appearing in a supporting role in Extra Ordinary Man, Rajasekhar is now set to impress audiences again with Biker. At the teaser event, he revealed that he has been suffering from Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) for many years — a condition that affects digestion and causes severe abdominal pain, also impacting the brain and muscles.
He shared, “When the director told me to give a speech, I got nervous. I thought I might say something wrong.” Rajasekhar also added, “I can’t sit idle — if I’m not working, it feels like I’m in jail.”
Recalling a moment from the film’s overseas shoot, he said a photographer once told him, “You’re lucky to have so much work at this age.” Rajasekhar smiled and said, “At that moment, I didn’t realize it, but later I felt — yes, he’s right.” He also mentioned that he suffered serious health issues during the pandemic and couldn’t even walk for three months.
“After recovering, I listened to many scripts, but Biker was something I truly loved. I did it with all my heart,” Rajasekhar concluded.
