Jason Sanjay, son of Tamil star and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay, is set to make his directorial debut with Sigma. The film stars young actor Sundeep Kishan and Faria Abdullah in the lead roles and is produced by Subaskaran under the Lyca Productions banner, with Thaman composing the music. Although the film was scheduled for release on July 31, its release was postponed due to undisclosed reasons. In a recent interview, Jason opened up about his filmmaking journey and the support he received from his father.

Jason said that watching his father’s long journey in the film industry from a young age inspired his interest in cinema. He decided to travel abroad and pursue a filmmaking course independently and shared his plans with Vijay. According to Jason, his father immediately supported the decision and was the first person to give him permission to pursue the course. Vijay encouraged him to gain a deeper understanding of filmmaking through formal training and stood firmly behind his son’s decision to enter the industry as a director.
