The polling for the Tamil Nadu elections concluded peacefully. This time, the state witnessed a triangular contest, with the DMK, AIADMK and for the first time, the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) party founded by Kollywood star Vijay entering the electoral race. As a result, not only common voters but also several film and political celebrities turned out in large numbers to exercise their franchise. Prominent personalities including TVK chief Vijay, Rajinikanth, Ajith, Dhanush, Shruti Haasan, Kamal Haasan, Trisha, Khushbu, Sivakarthikeyan and director Atlee cast their votes at their respective polling stations. However, among all of them, actress Trisha drew the most attention.
Ahead of the elections, rumors about Trisha being in a relationship with Vijay, along with their joint appearance at a public event, became widely discussed on social media. In this context, her visit to cast her vote attracted significant media attention. Trisha voted in Chennai along with her mother and later shared a photo on Instagram showing the indelible ink mark on her finger. The post became a topic of discussion as she added the song “Arjunar Villu” from the film Ghilli, in which she starred alongside Vijay, specifically using the whistle portion of the track. Since the whistle is also the election symbol of Vijay’s party TVK, netizens believe this was an indirect gesture of support. Vijay fans even started affectionately referring to her as “Vadhinamma” and speculation about a possible Vijay-Trisha marriage after the election results has also surfaced online.
