Actor Ram Charan's film Peddi has landed in controversy after several tribal organizations reportedly submitted a complaint to the District Collector and Superintendent of Police. The groups have alleged that certain words and expressions used in the film are offensive to tribal communities and have demanded action against those responsible for approving the content.
According to the complaint, terms considered derogatory toward tribal communities were allegedly used multiple times throughout the film. Representatives of the tribal organizations expressed concern that words protected and defined under tribal rights legislation were portrayed in an inappropriate manner. They also criticized the growing use of such expressions by social media influencers, arguing that the film's content could contribute to the normalization of language they consider disrespectful to indigenous communities.
