Many believe Telugu talent deserves more opportunities within their own film industry. However, in recent years, several Telugu actresses have found greater recognition and stronger roles in Tamil cinema. Though they began their journeys in Tollywood, their biggest breakthroughs often come from projects outside Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
Sri Gouri Priya, from Kakinada, started with small roles in Telugu films before gaining notice with Writer Padmabushan and MAD. While these movies earned her moderate recognition among Telugu audiences, her fame grew significantly with the Tamil film LOVER (2024). She also appeared in the Tamil web series Modern Love Chennai and will soon be seen in Bro Code, a comedy-drama starring Ravi Mohan.
Saanve Meghana, hailing from Hyderabad, made her lead debut in Telugu with Pushpaka Vimanam. Despite a few more Telugu films, her popularity spiked only after her Tamil debut Kudumbasthan, which earned her appreciation. She also appeared in Sai Abhyankar’s Tamil music video Vizhi Veekura, which went viral on social media.
Maanasa Choudary entered Telugu cinema through Bubblegum and a few smaller roles. Her Tamil debut DNA earlier this year gave her initial fame. She now awaits the release of her next Tamil film Aaryan, an investigative crime thriller set to release on October 31.
These success stories highlight a growing trend — Telugu actresses expanding their reach and achieving fame in Tamil cinema, proving that talent finds its spotlight wherever opportunities shine brightest.
